Literature Text

Prologue:
The land has a never ending cycle of blizzards and ice storms, just as if the land itself was enclosed in a snow globe. The world was as if it had been shaken whenever the Catori of Soyala (The spirit of the winter solstice) wants to tip it upside down and put it up right whenever the high spirits get involved. What justifies a snow globe is that the snow would fall gracefully and calmly to the ground; eventually the snow will stop. The snow would just lay flat on the ground until a hand picks up the snow globe and initiate the action again. Within this shaken up land, the snow would not merely stop for any second just to lay flat on the ground. The high spirits kept the winter seasons going and there was no such thing as complete spring unless it was in the Forest of Izula.  There was twelve complete months of pure winter. What would be considered the spring outside of the forest consisted of less than a month of still weather; there were fewer blizzards and ice storms.
The snowy terrain reaches all the way around the land except within the Forest of Izula. Outside of that forest, most of the ground is hardened with ice and in some areas there is as much as ten feet deep of feathery snow. The mountains were covered with snow and ice from the top to their valleys. The mountains had formed a range encircling half of the land and reached as high as beyond the clouds. All of the lakes, rivers, ponds, and other bodies of water have their own glacier farms. There are glaciers that are constantly gliding through the ever cold waters, like a heard of mammoths moving across the tundra floor.  Some glaciers even formed giant caves, as if nature created its own igloos. There are also plenty of other caves within the forest and the mountains as well as a few on the icy shores.
The only vegetation in the land was found in the Forest of Izula, a vast forest that covers about a third of the land. The forest contains fifty foot pine trees, lush green bushes, grassy fields, wild flowers, forest vines, and the Grand Oak Tree in the ends of the forest. The trees are what keep the snow from entering and creating a shelter out of their canopies. The bushes and grassy fields were bright green and scattered throughout the forest. The wild flowers are blooms over the grassy fields and there were so many different species of flowers. . The wild flowers consisted of fire wheels, Iceland poppies, baby blue eyes, blazing stars, foxgloves, daisies, and cosmos.  The forest vines would grow all over the trees within the forest and on the Grand Oak Tree the vines hang from the tree’s branches. The Oak Tree stood at least two hundred feet from the root to the tip of the highest branch. It is said that the tree is the very gravity in which this land, this world…existed. It can only be explained, since no being has ever seen the Grand Oak.  Legend has a story about how the tree was created through the spirits of the first generation of animals found on this land.  The first generations were called the High Spirits.
Across from the Forest of Izula and the Grand Oak Tree lays the Azure Sea, full of depth and mystery. From beyond the sea there lay many untouched lands. This winter wonderland comes with many legends and tales. Amongst the whisper of the chilling winds to the chirping of the forest birds to all the animals placed on this earth; this land speaks of life and speaks of truth. With the howl of the white wolf is in sync with the phases of the moon, it is come to past that this land is called, Mura, crescent land.
